Online Marketing and SEO

Are you getting enough inquiries from your existing website? The goal of creating a new website is to generate business from it.

Even if it’s the best looking website on the Internet, if people can’t find it when they search for it on Google, then it’s of no use to you. However, there are many aspects involved in getting your website to rank highly in Google.  These factors can be generally classed under two headings:

1. On-site Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Your website can be optimised to help it rank highly on Google.  For example, one of the most important factors is ensuring that each page on your website has a descriptive page title.

Each page should have words related to your business.  For example, if you run a ice-cream shop, then you should identify keywords related to the ice-cream business and your location, and include them in page headings.  The main heading on your services page should include these keywords –

We provide you with the best quality ice-creams in Cork.

These are just a sample of some of the techniques necessary to create a highly-optimised website for search engine rankings.  If you’d like to learn more, contact us now.

2. Off-site Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

This refers to how many websites link to your website.  If numerous websites that link to your site, then Google acknowledges that your website is an authority on a particular subject, and ranks your website higher in Google as a result.

So how do you get other websites to link to yours?  Start a blog.  Spread the word among your connections.  If other websites like your blog, then they will link to the relevant article on your website.

Set up social network accounts on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.  Note here that your business may not be suited to some of these social networks, so think before you set up an account on each of these networks.  For example, a pharmaceutical company may have no need for a Facebook page.  However, a LinkedIn profile would be much more suited to their business.

Once you have social network profiles set up, link back to your website from these websites.  The latest Google Analytics update takes social networking “worth” into consideration.

Again, these are only a couple of methods that will get your site to rank higher.  If you’d like to learn more, contact us now.
